01 / Context

The Business & Market Reality

Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (Julphar) PJSC is one of the largest and most established pharmaceutical manufacturers in the Middle East and North Africa, distributing across 50+ countries. Operating state-of-the-art manufacturing plants in Ras Al Khaimah and publicly traded on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), Julphar required a corporate digital transformation to launch its comprehensive Arabic web platform—ensuring complete bilingual parity with its global English site for regional healthcare professionals, regulatory bodies, and MENA institutional investors.

02 / The Challenge

Where Users Were Getting Stuck

While Julphar had an English web presence, their regional audience required a dedicated, culturally resonant, and technically flawless Arabic (RTL) platform. The core challenge was translating a massive catalogue of specialized medications, therapeutic categories, dosage forms, and ADX financial disclosures into a native Right-to-Left layout without layout breakage, awkward typography wrapping, or sluggish navigation.

03 / Strategy

UX & Product Architecture Decisions

1. Arabic (RTL) UX Architecture & Typography Pairing

I engineered a dedicated Right-to-Left layout hierarchy, selecting high-legibility modern Arabic typography paired with strict baseline grid alignments to ensure visual harmony, optimal reading cadence, and brand prestige across all screen viewports.

2. Bilingual Therapeutic Catalog & Search Taxonomy

Architected an interactive bilingual product search matrix allowing MENA clinicians, hospital procurement officers, and pharmacists to discover medications in Arabic by active ingredient, dosage form, and regional regulatory approvals.

3. ADX Arabic Investor Relations & Financial Hub

Designed the Arabic shareholder portal integrating real-time ADX stock market performance, quarterly financial disclosures, board governance reports, and annual ESG sustainability archives.

4. Modular RTL Design System & Design Tokens

Constructed an accessible, high-density RTL component library in Figma, ensuring directional iconography, mirrored navigation flows, and clinical color signposting comply with strict international healthcare standards.

04 / Engineering

Technical Architecture & Performance

I engineered the frontend architecture with clean semantic HTML5, bidirectional CSS logical properties for pixel-perfect RTL/LTR switching, responsive Arabic font subsetting for sub-second loading, and comprehensive Schema.org MedicalWebPage and Organization structured data in Arabic and English.
